When in Paris, do as Parisians do

Oh la la! Our Parisian reporters went on a quest through this lively city, and bring to you some unusual must-visits. Romance, nature, sporty activities and nostalgic experiences: discover the capital French style!

Lovebirds attention! Which French city is known for its romance? Right, Paris! Discover the ideal love-destination at her finest with these rosy tips.

The 'I love you' wall

Je t'aime, te amo, ik hou van je.. Take a look at the famous 'Je t'aime' wall on the Square des Abbesses in Montmartre: a 40m2 fresco where the artists Frédéric Baron and Claire Kito have written the words 'I love you' in over 300 different languages.

the Museum of Romantic Life

Step across the threshold of this authentic mansion for a trip back in time: its art collection brings you back to the atmosphere of the 19th century romantics. After, take off for a romantic hand-in-hand stroll along the adjacent flower gardens.

Paris is much less a city of stone than you think, especially with these green tips. Nature does not always reveal at first glance, but is hidden in the smallest corners. Put on your walking shoes and off you go!

stroll along the Coulée Verte

The plant-lines 'Coulée Verte', situated on the site of a disused railway line, brings to you a 5 km walk from the Opéra Bastille straight to the edge of the Bois de Vincennes. For a real Parisian experience, pack a picnic basket and plan an afternoon in this beautiful forest. There are even boats available for rent!

Colours & flavours at the Marché d’Aligre

Towards the end of the Coulée Verte, climb down from the viaduct for a visit to the Aligre Market, in the 12th district. It's delights will wet the appetite! Don't forget to look round the second'hand boutique next to the market.

Paris is the place to go to enjoy a getaway with your friends! Whether you fancy a relaxing weekend in the French cafes, an active fame of Pétanque (Jeu de Boules) or a darkjourney through underground Paris.. Here are our favorites!

Pétanque on the banks of the Seine

The sand-covered banks of the Seine are quite romantic.. but also the favorite place for 'boules' players to enjoy a real French game of pétanque! Gather your friends, grab your picnic basket and let yourself be guided by the fanatical Parisians on the Quai de Seine and the Quai de la Loire.

Get the chills in the Catacombs

This theatrical maze leads you deep into the belly of Paris, where the remains of 18th and 19th century Parisians are part of the shuddering decor. We hope you're not afraid of the dark..

Fashion, history, music, gastronomy… In Paris, periods and styles blend together everywhere you look! Make a fun and educational journey back in time with the nostalgic travel tips.. Ready for departure?

Feel like taking a bite out of a real American burger or pancakes? Let your nose lead you to the authentic restaurant 'Breakfast in America', and enjoy an original breakfast in the atmosphere of an American diner. Parisians adore this place!

Paris is, among jazz aficionados, considered as the definite capital of the swing! Round off your evening with a visit to one of the city's many jazz clubs, and enjoy a drink in their smoke-filled cellars.. Our favorite: Caveau de la Huchette, founded in the 40s and still dedicated to swing.
